Wow, what a trip. The person sitting next to me on the plane was so excited that they had to try out every button available to us. Off to on, forward to back, up to down, muted to loud, etc., you get the idea. I won't mention his name because Dustin knows it's him. Actually he was a very good travel companion as were all of the delegates. The second flight was very hot and longer than we expected but everyone stayed positive and upbeat.
We arrived at Yung- Feng HS this morning and were greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm. The band played three very dramatic pieces and then the delegation performed. When they went out into the audience to invite students to perform, the crowd went wild! The principal got up and danced as well. She was so good that Ryan's comment to her was "Clearly, you've done this before". It was a very good time and everyone was so gracious.
After the performance everyone took pictures with students and faculty. We were escorted to the boardroom where name plates and name tags in English and Chinese were waiting for us. We are learning how to make tea this afternoon after lunch and then the students of this high school graduate! Olivia (handler), Anne(principal) and everyone we have encountered have been absolutely amazing.
