Amanda-I'm a Youth Ambassador. Now What?

Hi my name is Amanda Adorable and I am a youth ambassador going to Taiwan on Wednesday. I can't believe that the trip is only 3 days away! Well in preparation for the upcoming trip, the Plano delegation met at the May Dragon in Addison for lunch. After hearing from several speakers, like the mayor of Addison Mr. Joe Chow and representatives from the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, the Plano youth ambassadors performed for our parents and everyone else at the lunch. We performed a line dance to God Bless Texas in cowboy hats and then danced to the Cupid Shuffle. We invited a few people from the audience to join us and I think they enjoyed it. Afterwards, we ate a delicious buffet meal that the May Dragon cooked for us. There were vegetable eggrolls, orange chicken with sesame seeds, chicken fried rice, sauteed shrimp, white rice, beef with a yummy sauce, and then fortune cookies to finish it all off. I've finally finished packing and I can't wait to meet my host family. By talking to them through E-mail I've learned so much about them. I'm so excited to be able to see what it's like in Taiwan and see how different their lifestyles are than ours in the United States. I know we will grow to appreciate the little things we take for granted that we have here when we don't have them as readily available. I think we will all do a good job representing the United States and I cannot wait until we can learn more about the Taiwanese culture and experience all the things they have to offer us. Although I'm not too excited for the long flight, I can't wait for Wednesday to be here so that we can leave and finally be in Taiwan!
