I am extremely excited about the trip. I've been out of the country before, but never without my parents. I feel this is going to be a really good way to transition from high school life to the more independent college setting. It has been a ton of work balancing high school graduation and Taiwan preparation. I graduate tomorrow, but I haven't even given that the slightest thought. My full attention is on the trip to Taiwan.
My host and I were finally able to contact each other. I feel a wave of relief now that I know a little something about who I'm staying with. All of my anxiety has gone away, and now my mind is on my to do list. I still need to pack and about a billion other things, but shopping for gifts is just soooooo much more fun! =) I hope my family has just as much enjoyment from getting the gifts as I did picking them out!
I'm not really nervous at all. We have done one dance performance, so I know we can get through more.
I've been eating EVERYTHING with chopsticks. Not that need practice using chop sticks (I'm actually rather talented with them), I'm just so excited that I'm trying to incorporate the culture into my life as soom as possible. Taiwan, her I come!
