Page: I'm a Youth Ambassador. Now What?

Yesterday we had our send off dinner at May Dragon with the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce. It was a good rehearsal for us since we got to perform our dance for a small roomful of people, rather that starting off our first live performance in front of a group of 5,000 kids! I enjoyed the Chinese food we ate, which made me even more excited to get to Taiwan to try the different foods I have heard I will encounter.
I am still not sure of who I will be staying with while in Taiwan, but I suppose I will find out when I meet them at the airport! I am anxious to start making memories around the city of Taoyuan and observing the culture of the Taiwanese with my new host family. I am especially interested to see their different work ethic they have in school compared to our less dedicated practices.

I am so thankful to have been chosen to be part of this group and have a once in a lifetime experience with a great group of people. I still can't believe that I will be on a plane on my way to the other side of the world in less that 48 hours! I am filled with an abundant amount of excitement and fear at the same time. I'm looking forward to the moment the plane starts coming to a landing and I get to take my first look at Taoyuan. So, look out Taiwan cause the Texas Youth Ambassadors are on their way!
